And I've finally finished my very first painting for this year. Go me

I started this straight after I came home from the movie theater. The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey was amazing! I don't even know where to start the praising of the film... The scenery, 3D, animation... and of course the brilliant actors! Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage etc. Goodness. Go and whatch the movie.

Anyway, this wouldn't have taken so long whithout the hair and even now it's more like a L'oreal add than a portrait of Thorin. So please ignore the hair. Personally I'm quite glad how the skin and the eyes turned out and it even looks more or less like Armitage even though I didn't use any quidelines or anything of the sort. I only had reference picture next to it

It's incredible that Armitage had to wear a long hair and a bierd before he cought my eye I've seen his work before but never realized how charming he is.
